From the paddock to the playground, we bring the farm to you…

If organising a visit or excursion to a farm is a daunting task, then make it possible by having the farm visit you. This enables you, the teacher, to discuss and plan with our staff what activities and information you expect in our presentations. Visits can be tailored to meet criteria and outcomes and management of group size and time allotted means students get maximum value from our visits.

Safety and affordability are two very good reasons for bringing the farm to your facility. Organising buses, checking permission notes, acting as money collector, watching over large groups of children and students, and then finding that the trip away does not fulfil your requirements in terms of an educational experience - these are things of the past when you book a Farm to You or Farmyard Friends visit for your school or centre.

Over the years we have provided many "mobile" farm visits to schools and we have found that students are more confident about dealing with the animals in the familiar surroundings of their school environment, they are more likely to ask relevant questions and seek information about topics they are covering that day in class, there is the opportunity with small group sizes to cover and expand on spontaneous points of interest. And importantly, our programs offer teachers a hassle-free learning experience for the whole class right where that initial controlled contact with farm animals should occur - in the classroom, in the playground, right at school.

f.a.r.m offers a wide range of visits and programs for educational purposes, and we have a commitment to promoting agriculture and adhering to standards of excellence in our presentations at each level. Our staff come from commercial farms, and district properties and are qualified to represent what is happening in a vibrant and important modern Australian industry. Our displays are more than a bunch of cute baby farm animals, we offer a hands-on learning experience that will inform, educate and hopefully initiate an on-going interest in livestock and agriculture amongst students at various levels.

Under the banner, "From the Paddock to the Playground", we offer a visiting service that is focussed on the educational aspects of farming, farm life and the importance of farming to the community at large. Visits can start with pre-schoolers and lower primary classes, and cover activities that are suitable for these ages. We have a very good resource kit that is available for teachers to use in the week leading up to a visit. For upper primary and lower high school classes, we can offer more structured and specialised visits that follow the key learning areas that students are required to cover. The Farming Way is our exciting program of feature demonstrations that bring the importance of agriculture right into the classroom. For upper high school, college and even tertiary institutions we can offer valuable information and contacts through our extensive network of producers and field experts. Our website will also keep you up to date with relevant f.a.r.m. facts that provide important industry links to additional resource and project material.

Contact us and discuss your requirements with one of our staff. We are always able to arrange an affordable package that allows you and your students to enjoy all the advantages of the farm without all the worries of time, distance and travel.
