In a commitment to involving young people in Agriculture, f.a.r.m has drawn together a capable and experienced group of young volunteers and animal carers whose professionalism and freshness has always been seen as an asset in our displays. We regularly feature stories about one of our carers or presenters in this section.

March 2006 - this year sees us preparing to celebrate a special anniversary, and we are going to do it in style! Our 10th birthday party will be a great chance for all our Carers to get together and reminisce over the fun times they have had with our displays over the years. Currently helping out regularly with the Patting Paddock, is Catherine Tuckwell and we thought you might like to know a bit about her work with f.a.r.m.

Catherine is a Y12 student at Radford College and has her sights set firmly on becoming a vet, so her involvement with the animals in the Patting Paddock has been a good training ground. She has been working with f.a.r.m. for more than 5 years and we are constantly amazed at how she manages to juggle her study, and sport commitments so that she can continue her involvement.

One of Catherine's interests is photography, and she is often seen, camera in hand, getting some great close-up shots of her farmyard favourites, as well as some hilarious "shots" of other staff members "on the job". Thank goodness she doesn't have a video camera...we might end up on a certain TV Show!

We are very proud of Catherine's commitment to our mission of "bringing the country to the city in a special way" with our farm animal displays, and she has shown a special awareness for the welfare of our animals and a managerial flair that now sees her "supervising" displays at various events.

Well done Catherine and a BIG thank you.

Catherine is a serious Brumbies fan and was right there in the picture talking tactics with Baary and the Big 'O' at a recent Brumbies Open Day.
