November 2008
Celebrating
more than 10 years
of
award-winning, farm animal displays!
Christmas
is just around the corner and it is reassuring to look out over
the paddocks and see wonderful grass and pasture with fat healthy
animals enjoying their first decent spring season in 8 years!
What a change to last year's dry and dust when we celebrated the
arrival of the "littlest farmer", Isabella Louise, in
late November. Her first birthday is next week and all of us look
back over that amazing 12 months of getting to know her and sharing
her fascinating development from helpless newborn to confident,
animal-loving toddler. her photo album shows a year crowded with
experiences, travels and beaming smiles, often accompanied by
a host of her farmyard friends!
We
have had an extremely busy spring, with our committment to Floriade
proving to be a massive undertaking in terms of organising staff,
keeping up a resilient supply of animals and dealing with the
expectations of the thousands of visitors to Commonwealth Park.
We were very satisfied with our presentation and justifiably proud
of our efforts to stage the longest-running farm animal display
in Australia! Made the 1997 Sydney Royal of 3 weeks, pale by comparison.
Congratulations to all our staff for their great teamwork and
committment. Thanks to our Scottish "white knight",
John - we all miss him and wish him well in his travels. If we
do Floriade again in 2009 we will fly him out from Aberdeen just
to renew the team!
We
would like to wish you all the best for the coming Christmas season
and look forward to bringing you more farm animal displays in
2009. Take care, and God bless.
Regards ...................FJ
