Our Story

Directors

farm animal resource management is a Yass-based business established in 1994 as a small consultancy geared to promoting Australia's agricultural heritage through displays, providing farm animals for promotional, educational and tourism associated events.

farm animal resource management staff have had many years experience in organising and managing small to large-sized displays at agricultural shows, field days, exhibitions and large festivals. Such displays offer both young and old the opportunity for realistic, hands-on contact with farm animals.

farm animal resource management has its headquarters on a picturesque grazing property situated on the Boorowa River near Yass in southern NSW. Partners Jane Southwell and Kathleen Allan breed fine wool merino sheep, Murray Grey cattle and Australian Stock Horses as a commercial family enterprise on the property, known as "Bindaree". In a commitment to promoting the importance of agriculture they have developed an extensive mobile farm visiting service that operates throughout the Canberra region.

farm animal resource management statistics show the scope and diversity of this unique enterprise. While the core business centres on educational projects and small functions, notable achievements by this award-winning business include:

haybale.gif Staging the last farmyard nursery for the RAS of NSW at the old Sydney showground at Moore Park when the f.a.r.m. team collected, transported and cared for over 400 animals during the 16 days of that historic event. Visitor numbers topped 1.2million.

haybale.gif Theming a major dinner for over 300 delegates where a mob of "jolly jumbucks" complete with stockman's camp and settlers hut greeted guests as they arrived at Exhibition Park in Canberra.

haybale.gif Providing cows for hand milking and sheep for shearing demonstrations as part of heritage displays at National Trust and other historic buildings. Even taking a cow into the grounds of the National Gallery during a special exhibition.

haybale.gif Working with the media and advertising agencies providing animals and other resources for promotions and corporate functions. Putting "a pig on air" was an unusual highlight.

farm animal resource management has the expertise, resources and promotional flair to present and manage a range of displays that are tailored to client's special requirements. From small features to major festivals and events - this talented team has brought the country to the city in a unique and professional manner.
